Why is there any great inconvenience for the less then an hour out of your life here in Thailand?

Because every hour counts!  Especially at our age!

I quite enjoy going to immigration because I normally bump into someone I know and like Frank said if you continually go in person they get to know you and if there is anything slightly wrong they always help you and I find most of them very pleasant to talk to, plus it gives me something to do for a couple of hours because I always incorporate it into something else that I wanted to do.

Once they know you,, and not your representative, you know it is a real commitment when a senior Immigration Officer says to you, "Come see me, if you have any type of problem.  I will assist you."  AND he doesn't ask for any tip!
How can you be so naive?

Kajornsak, and why should I read a Facebook site of negatives?  I really don't care what other's opinions are of the Immigration Office here in Khon Kaen as long as they treat me as a person and I do them likewise.  In all my dealings with them, I have never had any problem or issue.  I guess I will stay na´ve, as you say, and continue as I have.

It amazes me that others get themselves into some sort of situation that is unacceptable to them when my experiences with the Immigration Office have always been very positive.

I look at it from the perspective that we are guests in their country and should act like guests and follow the rules and regulations as presented to us.

People only tend to share bad experiences to get it off their chest.

So the above is 190 people/comments.

What about the thousands who have not had any problems?

I just applied online for my 90 day report. I have tried several times in the past but it actually only worked once. I will give it a week or so and then head into the immigration office if need be.

But maybe, just maybe, Screamer, a lot of those thousands that you are talking about are like me and do not use the online service and prefer to go in person to the Immigration office so that they are sure that their report is done on time.

It is my understanding that Khon Kaen immigration does not participate in Online Reporting. I could be wrong, but it has never worked for me.

So I am of the mind that they don't participate.

It USED TO work.  I did it successfully 3 times but they've stopped doing it now according to the IO I specifically asked about it.
Is my identity my own?
Why does anybody feel the need to f**k with it??

The whole thing seems like an empty ritual to me.  I am sure that requiring a report when there are changes in your status would suffice.  Especially as now, there is no way imm can insure they are actually receiving accurate information, especially as they allow reporting online and by third party. To really nail  it down, they would have to get even more draconian and require recent rental receipts or utility bills or some such, making the process more lengthy, paper-intensive and bureaucratic.

I asked last week in Sarahkam about online reporting for 90 day, she said no, not yet, but perhaps next year we will be able too.  Right now she said she likes to see my smiling face every 90 days.  It only takes 5 minutes anyways, not a huge deal.

Just did another 90 day report, 31 July. The office has been renovated and is now open for business inside. Check in with the help desk on your right and advise them you're doing your 90 day report. This will expedite you. Report took less than 5 minutes.

Savannah20, what did you use when you went online to put in the application, IE?
