Buddhist Temples with English-Speaking Monks
« on: September 28, 2018, 08:40:13 PM »
Is anyone aware of temples in or near the city where there are English-speaking monks? It seems like there should be a few since a lot of westerners come to Isaan for training. I am surprised there isn't a topic on this but a search brought up nothing.

Thanks.

Tony

I met a monk last year in Roi Et that speaks very good English. When I asked him where he learned to speak English, he told me that he used to be a chef in a major hotel in Bangkok. Not sure how being a chef teaches one English, but it obviously does.
I know this doesn't help you find one in Khon Kaen. Just showing that they are around, so maybe.

The only temples I know of are, Wat Pa Baan Tat in Udon and Wat Pa Nanachat in Ubon. Both very popular with westerners.
