Open discussion / Re: Hidden Processing Fees - Thai AirAsia
« Last post by kowpot on June 18, 2019, 04:20:57 PM »
We traveled to the Philippines last month and took Air Asia to BKK.  Paid for it by credit card. Didn't see anything about 80 baht fee.
Could it be the processing fee? That seems rather high, since I am doing all the work myself online.
The meal and the insurance I could have done without.

80 baht per "LEG."   Don't most passengers have two legs unless they are dogs?

My wife just made reservations today.  As she was falling through the menus and clicking on what she wanted, she knew that you had to click "NO" on the Travel Insurance, since they begin with "YES" even though you may not want it.  Then she knows that if you charge the itinerary to a credit card, there is a charge which they enumerate so you know how much it is.

BUT NOW WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE, AND NO INDICATION UNTIL YOU COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION AND FINISH THE CHARGE (IF YOU CHARGE IT), AN AMOUNT OF ABOUT 80 BAHT PER LEG PER PASSENGER IS ADDED AUTOMATICALLY.  YOU DO NOT SEE THAT CHARGE UNTIL THE ITINERARY IS COMPLETED AND PAID FOR.

SO BUYER BEWARE.  IT IS FRUSTRATING THAT YOU BUY THE DIsCOUNTED TICKETS AND THEY ADD AN ADDITIONAL AMOUNT THAT TAKE AWAY A GOOD PORTION OF THE DISCOUNT YOU RECEIVED.

She talked to an agent at AirAsia but to no avail.

I thought a Cameroonian was a girl scout cookie.

You are probably confusing it with Macaroon, a small country in Africa.

No, you are confusing it with MacAroon, a small Scotsman from Edinburgh.

Book early.  There will be a lot of students wanting a photographer for that same time frame.

VERY good advice.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I a;ways use the Ruen Rom shop for my visa photos and that's due well before December so I'll ask there.
