And banks then wonder why companies like Transferwise have such inroads into their lucrative international transfers business.

Wrong form number Rex.  TM30 is the form confirming your address which up to very recently has not been enforced in Khon Kaen.  The 90 day form is TM47.

Visas, et al / Re: Extension renewal

I did my retirement extension today, Thursday 30th August.  We arrived at 10.15am and the place was empty bar us and we were seen to immediately, I didn't even need to take a number. The extension went without a hitch, but I was surprised she used a conversion rate of baht to the pound of just 41.  After that she spent ages filling in what looked like a complete database entry about me, obviously name, passport number, landing card number, date I last entered the Kingdom, address, phone number, my wife's phone number and  virtually everything that's in my passport plus a photo.  There was also a new form to sign, all in Thai. Then to my surprise she also asked for a copy of my wife's ID card and  then printed out a TM30 form and stapled that into my passport along with the  new 90 day slip and the landing card.
So it looks like the TM30 regulations are being enforced here now.  How strictly I don't know, ie do you re-report when you've been out of the country or even out of the changwat?
A good experience today so 'er indoors is stuck with me for another year.

The Thai expression for registered is "Long tabien".

Open discussion / 3BB plastic payment card
« on: August 22, 2018, 05:35:45 PM »
A couple of months ago we received a card  from 3BB that could be used to pay  our monthly internet bill.  It worked no problem, so last month and this month I paid the bill on the 11th, as stated on the card. But this month, 10 days after paying, we received a bill, as we used to. We happened to be going to Central yesterday so we popped into their office there and asked what did they want us to do, pay on the 11th with the card, or wait for the bill.  Wait for the bill they said.
So what was the point of sending out all those cards?

I suspect that each branch makes their own rules up as they go along. I've never had a problemwith Kasikorn Thai Bank, back to even when they were the Thai Farmers Bank.  I have an accountat the Nah Muang Branch in town which I use just to pay standing orders for our water and electricity,
and another Kasikorn  one at Tesco/Lotus next to the new conference centre on Mittrapharp.
But I suggest you just keep trying.  Perhaps the next one with just say, "No problem, sign here".

Rex, for me it happens twice.  Once as you enter the site, and once after you have input your username/password.  After that the session is OK.    And thank heavens it's not just me!

Thank you Rex.  I am fairly sure I don't have malware  as i have just run full scans by Avast, Malwarebytes and Adwarecleaner, none of which found anything untoward.

Rex, I am still having almost daily trouble with Cleantalk.
Over the past couple of weeks they have objected to180.183.17.118180.183.67.170180.183.67.123180.183.64.103so I tried a VPN and they objected to them too,128.199.241.231128.199.201.63128.199.214.89
Just now they objected to 180.183.68.227see attached screenshot.  But when I clicked on that number for details they said they had no records for that number. See other screenshot.
I cannot conceive of any software on my computer that could cause this, I just use 3BB fibre, mostly to check email and read the UK newspapers.

I am starting to think they they object to numbers just to keep themselves in business.
please can you take it up with them.
Thank you very much.Lung Bing

Welcome.  The foreign food is very good.  Paul delivers to the car park in Makro on Mittrapharp in Khon Kaen.  But you've just missed his last delivery which was Thursday last week.  There's a link to a .pdf file on this page
http://nookiesdelights.3baht.net/products.htm
which will show what an extensive range of food he sells.  Never been disappointed yet.

Getting to and from Khon Kaen / Re: Khon Kaen to Pattaya by bus
« on: July 20, 2018, 04:40:19 PM »
The flight might only be less than an hour, but add in the time you have to be at the airport early, the time walking to the terminal after landing, the time in the taxi queue, the time on the road and although still not as much as on the train I find the train less stressful.  And the trains are new now and get you right into the city at Hualamphong station and I can walk from there to the hotel I use near the Central Post Office.

FAQ, TOS, SPAM Policy / CleanTalk spam protection
« on: June 14, 2018, 03:01:18 PM »
Whilst I fully appreciate the need for spam protection I really am fed up with CleanTalk stopping me logging onto this site every single time.
I always get a message from CleanTalk saying that 180.183.69.168 is suspected of spamming, but when I click on that number I get the message from CleanTalk that it did not match any of their records.  So why stop me logging on then?
My ISP is 3BB and I'm on fibre, not that that should make any difference.
