Open discussion / Re: Change to Deposit Procedure to Bangkok Bank New York
« on: November 09, 2018, 08:46:30 PM »
I have checked several other forums here in Thailand and I find no others (that I can find) discussions regarding the changes being made by Bangkok Bank regarding International EFT payments.  Also, has anyone received any sort of official  notification from Bangkok Bank regarding these changes.  I would imagine that they are going to have  a good many customers that are going to be surprised come April 1, 2019.  Have any of you seen anything about this change other than was is shown on the Bangkok Bank web site?

I have one of those cards and I pay online using i-banking.  No paper statement received in the mail.

Also, please note the times this year are 12:00 to 14:00 not the normal 8:00 to 12:00.

Dealing with Thailand government / Re: Online Banking
« on: April 25, 2018, 01:37:53 PM »
I'm not trying to get it done online.  Per the Bangkok Bank web site, I downloaded the application and submitted to my branch in Ban Phai per their instructions.  They in turn after checking the document forward the application to Bangkok.  After, it was checked they informed me I would receive a reply in 7-10 days.  That has long past and the person that I presented the application to informs me to be patient and wait.

Do any of you gents or ladies have online banking with Bangkok Bank?  I submitted an application with my local branch, per the instruction on their web site and was informed I would have a reply in about 7 days.  Now a month later not a peep out of them.  Inquires only resulted in being told to wait.  Have been using this bank for 19 years and never had a problem of not response until now.

Doctors, Clinics, Hospitals / Re: Rachapreuk Hospital

Upon discharge (inpatient or outpatient) will the Rachapreuk Hospital provide you with an itemized bill in English as well as a Physicians Statement with diagnoses in English.  I ask as I need those in order to file a claim with my U.S. Government insurance.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is a Khor Ror 2 and who needs to have one?

I just pack the wife and family up on a Friday and send them to the family farm with instructions not to return until Sunday evening.  I then stay at home along and enjoy the peace and quite.

I have seen several aged persons at immigration and more that a few at the U S. Embassy road trips, who were wheel chair bound.  As with them, should I get in the position when I can no longer care for myself I must rely on my wife and her family to tend to my needs.  I have prepared written detailed instructions on every thing (that I can think of) and the steps for them to take for keeping my status current at immigration, for filing insurance claims (medical and death), banking matters, reporting my death to the Embassy when the time comes and obtaining a death certificate, etc.

When that time comes it all boils down to trust.

Open discussion / Re: How often do you get traditional Thai massage?
« on: December 05, 2017, 05:53:24 PM »
Every Tuesday at 10:00 down in Ban Phai.  Cost 250 baht for two hours.  I do have them ease off the Thai traditional part a bit and spend more time working on my lower legs and feet as it helps restore some of the feelings I have lost due to diabetes.

This is the best money transfer deal going that I know of.  Have been using it for 15 or more years and never a glitch.  I send money over on the last working day of the month and at other times if I want to make a special purchase.  At my local bank in the U. S. I have it set up as a monthly bill payer option which they offer.  There is no charge for this at my bank as they save on check processing fees.  I do not recommend sending social security or other U. S. government pays in this manner as the account which these funds go to have some restrictions.  See the Bangkok Bank item referenced above.

Visas, et al / Re: Renewal of Retirement extension / 90 day Report
« on: September 06, 2017, 02:01:25 PM »
Annual extension today (retirement).  In and out in under 10 minutes.  All forms completed and copies made at home prior to arrival at immigration.  One thing new, when they issued my receipt, I had to go out and make a copy of the receipt for them.  No idea why but easy hoop to jump through.

I use my I-Pad to watch TV through my 3BB Wi Fi using the Apple A/V adapter which is a bit expensive by the way.  Works fine for me.  The only drawback is no remote so you have to have a long cable or otherwise walk over to the I-Pad when you want to change channels or a different provider.

I am a prior USAA Savings Bank Customer and previously sent money to Bangkok Bank without any paper being provided to them.  I just went to their web site, logged on to my account.  I then went to their transfer and bill payment section.  Filled in the date to who I wanted to make a payment, ie. Bangkok Bank, New York. Entered their routing number, my account number with Bangkok Bank the amount  and date of the transfer.  Never a problem.  Of course you must be signed up for online banking for this to occur.  This was several years ago, but I just looked at their web site and they still offer transfer and bill payment services for their checking account customers.  Good Luck.

Open discussion / Re: Cannot login to US Social Security Website :o(

I had this same problem with 3BB about a year ago. I could not log on to social security and several other web sites.  3BB sent a technician over to the house, but they soon left scratching their heads.  The next day they called me back and asked that I try logging on to social security again and low and behold it worked.  This lasted about six months and then stopped.  Two months ago I upgraded to a faster service with them and then I was again able to log on.  However, this was short lived lasting only about two weeks. So yes, I agree that 3BB has some type of issue which causes some web sites to deny their entry.

I probably have the same issue as you with rising insurance cost eating away at any COLA increase, but I won't know until I actually receive the first payment due to the 3BB problem.  I attempted to get a VPN installed on my computer using information provided by a user of this forum, but my lack of technical knowledge left this unaccomplished.
