Visas, et al / Re: Renewal of Retirement extension / 90 day Report
« on: August 19, 2019, 07:16:08 PM »
In addition the same officer gave me my next 90 day report date of mid-November which was 2 months past the expiry date  of my current visa next month.  I have never known that before.  In the past the next reporting date has always been  the expiry date of the visa if less than 90 days away.

The last paragraph is in direct contradiction to what I was told three days ago, last Friday.  I asked if I went to Korat for 2 nights and came back would they want a TM30 from me.  He said from me no, but from the house owner.

Open discussion / Re: Bangkok Bank Withholding Tax

I know the few baht are not worth the effort, but can you reclaim the tax?  A queue of us outside the tax office each claiming a refund of less than 50 baht might make them rethink it.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I a;ways use the Ruen Rom shop for my visa photos and that's due well before December so I'll ask there.

My eldest daughter has just finished her four years at Khon Kaen University and has been awarded an honours degree.  We are obviously very proud of her.  She will be handed her degree by Princess Sirindhorn sometime in December, date not yet known
Families are not allowed in the hall but afterwards we want  some good photos taken of our daughter in her degree gown with all our extended family.
Can anybody recommend a photographer?

Thank you very much for your helpful reply.  I am still not certain which way to go.  I am loath to stop using the retirement extension just in case they increase the requirements in the hope that after so many years I would be grandfather in on the existing requirements.I'll talk it over with 'er indoors and see what we come up with between now and September.  Earlier in fact, if I have to move our joint savings to my sole name account to season it in time.

But then I tie up 800,000 baht for 6 months and 400,000 for the other six months.

I have the 800,000 needed but don't want to tie it up for months so after 18 years on a retirement extension I am going to go for a marriage extension.
Has anybody been recently and can tell me the  current Khon Kaen Immigration requirements for a marriage extension?  Mine is due in mid-September.
Thanks very much.

Agreed Rex.  But as I bank with Kasikorn Transferwise are no good for me as the transfer comes into my bank as a local one, not an International one.

800,000 baht was it?  Maybe he's saving for a visa extension.

And speak like Maurice Chevalier presumably?

And I bet their immigration are more friendly.

Where to find . . . / Re: Looking for a printer service

All of that is a very good explanation as to why a lot of people use laser printers, particularly if you only want a black and white printout.
