We like this place. Nice town and the accommodations are pretty good too. We are also considering this.

Right now beginning today, 1 Nov, you can book flights nonstop from Khon Kaen to Phuket and spend Christmas there!!  We just made reservations for the New Year Day.  Reasonably priced tickets!

Yep. Phuket looks a better option to me. Take the youngster to the beach.

Which beach do you prefer on Phuket? Patong Beach is a no go for me.

Patong is dreadful. Almost as bad as Pattaya.
