Services for the home / Sofa Upholstery
« on: January 15, 2018, 11:59:47 AM »
Does anyone know of a good place to get a sofa upholstered? Have one that I really like with double reclining seating.
Preferably a place that will pick up, since it is rather large and heavy.

Where to find . . . / Re: The Computer Doctor is In!

For future use possibly. Could you give an address or directions as to where they can be found? My system is aging and it would be good to have a place to go for repairs or replacement parts if necessary.

Just so you know.

Are squirrels part of the rat family?

No, they are classified under separate families, squirrels belong to 'sciuridae' rats belong to 'muridae'.

I have 3BB and for some reason, I have always had to use a VPN to log into Social Security web site.  I also, need to use a VPN to log into Tricare or E- benefits.

Seems pretty simple.
Thank you for the replies.

I have a yellow book and a pink ID card already. But, the yellowbook is registered to my sister in laws house in Bangkok. I never lived there but I needed it to get the ID card.
It doesn't do me any good here. I will have to cancel it I guess and get a new one on my wife blue book. The thing is, my wife has a blue book now but there is no house on the land.
I was always under the impression that the yellow book could not be used to show residency for extension purposes. I could be wrong of course and that would be great if it was the case.

Visas, et al / What to show Thai Immigration when living in wife's house
« on: January 03, 2018, 07:10:46 AM »
For those of you that may have your own homes in Thailand, and by that I mean your wife's house.  I say this because of Thai law permitting only Thai citizens from owning land.
What is it, that you show Thai immigration when  doing your extension of stay?
Do you have a lease from your wife? Or, do you have a usufruct?
We are considering building a house and I was curious as the best way to go.

Not disappointed. Worth a stop in.  Very nice gent. Had the breakfast. Very good also. Still getting things set up. But like I said, worth a visit.

You are taking me way too seriously.  I probably won't even make it to 75.   55555555

I always figured when I get around 75 yrs old (11 more years) I will probably just stop going to immigration. I guess I will not be travelling as much and if they do catch me. Do you really think they will put me in prison?. Maybe even deport me? A gamble I am willing to make.  I just don't want to be bothered going to do stupid 90 day and annual extensions.
I am not saying this is for everybody.
Hell, I don't even smoke. But when I turn 75, I might take it up. What are the chances I will get lung cancer before I die?

Open discussion / Holiday Driving
« on: December 26, 2017, 07:57:04 AM »
Something I am not looking forward to. But, it has to be done.
The wife and I are driving to Roi et, tomorrow. I always made it a point not to drive during the holiday season. The roads are dangerous enough the rest of the year. But, we must meet with the Land Office people in Phon Thong, Roi et. They are surveying  the wifes land on the 28th so that they can issue her a chanote.
Apparently she has to be there.  Not sure what is the best time of day to travel during this time of year to miss the idiot drivers coming from BKK to the villages. I did tell the wife. As soon as they are done, we are heading home to the safety of our house and not going anywhere until at least the 3rd of January. :-\

Saw the American Flag blanket yesterday. Didn't notice the small sign hanging up. So, I now know exactly where they are. Do you happen to know, what their operating hours are?
I sure hope after all this, I am not disappointed with the place.  Oh well, I just figure it is another adventure.

Went right by there today. Didn't see any sign saying Alex's All Day Breakfast or Alex anything, for that matter.  Can't be looking for business very badly.
