All indications and comments point to, farang restaurants in Khon Kaen face strong head winds.

I guess, moral of the story is, if you find a good farang food shop in Khon Kaen. you'd better chow down, because 9 chances out of 10 it'll be "Poof--Gone" before you know it.

Stopped by Alex's All Day Breakfast today and found it,---"Poof...Gone".

For Rent sign on door.  darn.--
Got me to wondering,   how many farang food restaurants and bars have come and gone in the last 10 or so years ?

I've been living in Khon Kaen pre-Donna's Farang food shop (small room with a few shelves) and Nigel and Gigi's ownership of Seven's Bar and seems like all the farang restaurants come and then, go.
Sad to see.   Only one I know of, hangin' on now is the pizza place right near Piman Chol.
Why can't they last ?   Quality,  price of food,  type of food, cost of rent ??
Again,   sad to see

From one of the restaurant owners around the lake, I'm hearing it is going to be a floating style type market with large flower gardens.  This is being done to encourage promote tourism around the lake area.

Might be one of the reasons why the Accor Group purchased and is tearing down the old Kanyarat Hotel and building a new upscale hotel on the site.   The Accor Group brands include, Raffles, Sofitel, Pullman, Banyan Tree, Fairmont and many others. With the new fast train scheduled to be built and having a stop in Khon Kaen, tourism is really expected to grow.

Just wondering--
When you renew your license, do you have to the reaction time test and vision test ?

Thanks much for your information.

Couple of days ago, I decided to post the things I needed done on  Lo and behold, I got 28 bids on the required work in about 6 minutes.  What a website !  These developers bid on the work and it's very, very competitive.

Anyway, long story short...looks like a good ending to this story.

Again, thanks.

Speaking of computers, can anybody recommend a person who is good at Word Press or a shop that does web development in Khon Kaen ?

I'm not too sure what qualifies as world famous however, if you happen to use google maps, Cheewatip Spa can be found there.

Alek's All Day Breakfast shop is right next to Cheewatip Spa.  If you are facing the spa with the lake at your back---Alek's is to the left of the spa.

I took a couple of photos of the shop this morning but couldn't attach them..  bummer  :(

Just ran across a new farang food shop on lake Kaen Nakhon.

It's called Alek's All Day Breakfast.  Menu shows Fish and Chips, Burgers, Stuffed Baked Potatoes, Chili, some other items and of course breakfast all day. Has tables to sit outside too.

It's on the south west corner of the lake, not too far from Piman Chol 1.  It's south of the big Wat (Phra Mahathat) and just a little south of Cheewatip Spa.

Owner is Alek.  Says he just opened 3 weeks ago.

Avvocato,    Call Blocker Free is a good app that I use on my phone.  It can be set to "reject" numbers.   It's available for download on the Google Play Store and Amazon AppStore for Android.

Glad to help.  Yep,   a good one.    Very easy to set up, use, huge number of servers to select from and reliable.   Also, you can run a speed test from their "Help" menu if you want to compare some of their servers and choose the fastest one.    :)

I'm in China 9 months out of the year and have found that Astrill is a very reliable VPN.  I've used it for 7 years and wouldn't be without it.  Yeah, there are free ones out there--but I'm really satisfied
with Astrill.  It's a fine one.
