Where to find . . . / Re: Khon Kaen tax office

I plan to go early next week.  I'll report back for future reference.  Thanks to all.

Where to find . . . / Khon Kaen tax office
« on: January 08, 2018, 08:09:11 PM »
I have been having intense discussion with my UK bank, HSBC, about where my tax residence is.  I maintain it's in the UK because that's where my sole income originates via two pensions and it's where I am taxed.   They insist my tax residence is here and were not amused when in that case I asked for all my UK tax payments to be refunded!

I have no income in Thailand and because of having a 'retirement'  visa I'm not allowed to earn anything anyway.

I'm 70 years old next week and long since retired but this time HSBC are getting really nasty about it.  They want a full written explanation (!)  and threaten me with the loss of my UK account which would be disastrous.

So, I may have to go to the Khon Kaen tax office and  get a number which I will never use, just to keep happy some HSBC pen-pusher with a streak of meglomania.  And I thought the Spanish Inquisition had been disbanded.

But where is the Khon Kaen tax office, any help please, and if possible, what do they want from me when I do go there.

Thanks very much,

I bet he paid for it all though.

Thai traffic light meanings:
Green means "Wait until I've finished sending this text message."
Amber has two meanings.
 a.  Put your foot down, the lights are changing.
 b.  Brake hard thus causing panic behind you, then as the lights go to red go straight through.
Red of course means there's time for three or four more vehicles to go through.

Is the 850 inclusive or is it ++,  ie  plus service then plus VAT.  That would bring it to well over 1,000 baht.  Plus drinks of course.

Via an ATM I would doubt it, Rex, but via internet banking it should be easy.

Oh for the British Embassy to do the same.

And in 6 months time they will be complaining about the drought and cutting off the water during the day.

And why do monks need top-of-the-range mobile phones?  A direct line to circumvent praying?

Monks complaining about beef in a tin?  I don't think so.  In India, a Hindu country, perhaps, but not here.

Airport thieves eh?  Come on, own up, who's nicked Don Muang?

Visas, et al / Re: Renewal of Retirement extension / 90 day Report

Certainly better than the long drive to Nong Khai to see officer "Mr. Happy"  as we used to do before KK office opened.

When  this happened to me last year they did the 90 day first, then I had to go and copy the new 90 day report slip to go with all the other paperwork to support the renewal of the retirement extension which they did next.

Where to find . . . / Re: Sticky address labels
« on: July 21, 2017, 03:58:17 PM »
I'll answer my own query then!
I wasn't able to find a label printer so I bought some blank labels  from the stationery store in the basement of Oasis.  3 labels across by 8 labels down.    There are loads of templates for Avery labels available but the ones I bought appear to be a non-standard size.  I used Powerpoint , made a text box and put my details in and copied it 23 more time.  I arranged them roughly in the right layout and printed a page on plain paper then adjusted the position of the 24 address boxes as necessary and printed it on a page of labels.  No problemo and it worked well.

Perhaps the new bridge has disrupted the water flow?  My wife also thinks they have built the bridge on a low water year and when the water is higher the bridge footpath will be under water.
