How many days early are you allowed to do a 90 day report?

I have only ever turned in one TM 30 in all the years in Thailand and have never turned in or filled out a TM 28.

Same here and no problems so far  ;)

Maybe it has to do with credit cards.  I know when I registered, they only showed the items in USD and you could not pull down the various currencies menu to get Thai Baht conversion.   So if you cannot order in Thai Baht, do Thai Bank Credit Cards accept transactions in other than Thai currency?  If they did, there probably is a service charge of about 3%.  Or maybe there would be a service charge anyway using a Thai Bank Credit Card, and then AliExpress would have to collect the service charge.  Sounds convoluted.

My other question, do most Thais who might order from AliExpress have credit cards or do they do COD?

I never knew AlliExpress did COD, I have used COD on Lazada before. Might have to look into it on my next AliExpress order.

Blocker, tell us more about your ideas for mining.  And how do you propose to overcome the cost of electricity problem?  The technical is way over my head.  I am not even sure how the "mining" metaphor plays out technically.  However, apparently, so far as I understand, it does require a lot of processing power and electricity.  I am afraid that I am usually sucking hind teet on this stuff.  By the time I understand what is going on, the moment has long past.

Also a lot of heat from the equipment so more power needed for fans/air conditioning to keep things cool in this temperature here.

I am on a retirement extension and when doing extensions, I bring along my wife and copies of her ID card and the house blue book.

I had no problem getting online/internet banking with Bangkok Bank, I'm on a retirement extension.  ;)

Any idea what days Immigration will be closed next week, due for 90 day report on 24th.

I have gone there a few times but not in the last 18 months. It is no where near the quality of a good casino, say in the US or Australia. Maybe about a dozen tables, the most popular playing a local game. Betting is in Baht, they have an ATM that excepts Thai card but pays out local currency at a bad rate and then you have to change the local currency to baht at cashier, again at a bad rate.

at my last extension renewal, the IO tore-up the 18-month-old TM30 from the police and substituted one of their own

I have never shown, or been asked for a TM30 when doing extensions.

My wife did a TM30 for me 6 years ago at our local police station, when I first got here.
I have been out of the country numerous times since then and taken holidays in Thailand and not done another TM30 and I have had no problems when doing extensions or 90 day reports and I have never had anyone mention a thing about it.

I have a Bangkok Post article I saved from March and it also doesn't mention anything about being for new cars only.

In the article it says:
"Any insurer failing to comply with the order will face a fine up to 300,000 baht, he said, adding motorists could report them through the OIC's (Office of Insurance Commission) 1186 call centre."

Might be worth calling the number to check.
