Discuss Shopping / Re: Stainless Steel Fabricator

Just like always happens in my life. I stopped by more places dealing in stainless steel and they all say they can make me a better table at a better price in a shorter amount of time.
Even though the person I am dealing with didn't want any money down and I could easily walk away and deal with these other people. I feel he was being straight and honest with me.
So I will stick with him.

How do those others know they can make me a better table? They haven't seen the one I am having made!

Found a place to have my table built. It is past Tesco Extra on the entrance ramp to get on 230 toward Korat. As soon as you enter the ramp he is on the left hand side. Because of Songkran, it will take an extra week to make. Most of his workers are going to be gone. A good employer.
Thanks for all the input and help. smiley32

OK Thanks. I guess I will stop at a few of these stainless places that make gates and truck racks and see what they say. I need them to build the whole table. Thought maybe someone has had something made.

I am looking for a stainless steel food prep table. Has anyone done any business with one of the stainless shops that I see around town? I see they do a lot of work making racks for pickup trucks and i'm not sure if they do anything like a food prep table.

The problem I am having is any tables that I find are too short. (too low to the floor)

Also, if I order one through let's say, Amazon. The shipping cost are about 3 times the cost of the item. Not to mention what customs will charge me. If anyone knows where to purchase one in KKC that would be great. But, I am also open to having one made.

Discuss Shopping / IKEA Delivery to Khon Kaen.
« on: March 29, 2018, 02:57:29 PM »
Has anyone ever purchased something from IKEA and had it delivered to Khon Kaen. They have something I would like to purchase but I am confused by their shipping policy and rates.
I don't want to pay too much for the item because the shipping rate is so high.

 Any feedback would be appreciated.

Is 5G really worth it? Especially if you live in a two story house. Or if you live in a house with many rooms and walls.

The 2.4 GHz band is a pretty crowded place, because itís used by more than just Wi-Fi. Old cordless phones, garage door openers, baby monitors, and other devices tend to use the 2.4 GHz band. The longer waves used by the 2.4 GHz band are better suited to longer ranges and transmission through walls and solid objects. So itís arguably better if you need better range on your devices or you have a lot of walls or other objects in the areas where you need coverage. However, because so many devices use the 2.4 GHz band, the resulting congestion can cause dropped connections and slower-than-expected speeds.

What Are Mesh Wi-Fi Systems, and How Do They Work? The 5 GHz band is much less congested, which means you will likely get more stable connections. Youíll also see higher speeds. On the other hand, the shorter waves used by the 5 GHz band makes it less able to penetrate walls and solid objects. Itís also got a shorter effective range than the 2.4 GHz band.  Of course, you may also be able to mitigate that shorter range through the use of range extenders or mesh Wi-Fi systems, but that will mean a bigger investment.

Open discussion / Rubbish Drop Off
« on: March 13, 2018, 08:34:19 AM »
Does anyone know if there is an area, or town dump in Khon Kaen where I can bring a load of trash to drop off?  Our normal trash pickup is on Mondays,
which they never seem to show up for and Thursdays.

Sometimes I have more than I want to leave out in the street or I want to drop it off before leaving town.

Anyway, is there such a place?

If yes, please tell me where.

Absolutely nothing. Just like I thought Elvis had nothing to do with turnips.  I was wrong.
I will go stand in the corner now! :-\

OK Rex,
You got me. What does Elvis singing Blue Suede shoes have to do with turnips?

That's kind of saying " Do you walk to work or carry your lunch".

That is one thing that you have to watch out for before leaving the hospital. They fully understand presenting a bill in English. But, for insurance purposes. The diagnosis, must also be in English. But, they often leave that out. I always have to go back to billing and get them to include the Doctors diagnosis and remarks. Basically, what the hell did I come in here for?  Dah!

Can't seem to get that to sink in sometimes.

Spent four days in BKK hospital Khon Kaen this past week due to complications with asthma. Received excellent treatment, but the cost for four days was 59,000 baht.  "Ouch"
