Especially airport hotels with a trapped clientele...

Mind, not many UK people would consider Stansted to be London.

14 / $16 for breakfast is reasonable????
That's more than you would pay in London.

I used their eVISA website a few years ago and it was just as quick.

There is also a quick lane at Phnom Penh airport for visa holders.

Unlike Vietnam, it's best to take dollars.

Actually, Fon just found some   smiley32    at what she describes as the biggest pharmacy in KKC.  Don't know if they plan on always having it in stock.  If you are interested, I'll get more details on Friday. I thought that Mr. Tun no longer carrying it, we would be shit out of luck.

Yes please!

I was looking in Bangkok for it a while ago and only found one place.
The tablets were around 325mg or 365mg so bigger than normal.

People only tend to share bad experiences to get it off their chest.

So the above is 190 people/comments.

What about the thousands who have not had any problems?

I was just thinking that myself earlier.

It's ok to disagree with someone and/or have factual based arguments/debates but we can do without lots of follow-up posts that are just name calling and mud slinging.

I remember having an argument in an airline office in BKK during the ash cloud period with an American.

He was trying to tell me that to order a beer Chang you have to pronounce Chang like a Thai, "not like we say in English, Cheehhaaanng" (sorry, can't even come close to writing phonetically how he pronounced it).

I told him that in English we pronounce Chang exactly the same as a Thai and that he was speaking with a very strong American accent.
He just wouldn't have it, trying to tell me, a neutral-accented Englishman, how to pronounce it having no idea himself that he spoke with a VERY strong American accent.

Speed etc is something that gets me angry.

When talking among our own we tend to speak quickly and several foreigners have commented that they couldn't understand a word we were saying.

However, when talking to a foreigner why can't people realise that you should speak slowly and clearly to give them a fighting chance of understanding what you are saying? Pure ignorance?

Even some TV reporters interview a foreigner by talking very quickly using all sorts of colloquialisms. Unbelievable.

Then there is the problem of American v English.

My Thai language teacher last year could speak reasonable English and could easily understand me but she said she had a lot of difficulty understanding Americans.

There was a murder case in Italy a few years ago and they had to get an American to English translator.

Here in the UK I saw a 9 year old's homework and couldn't understand a word of it.

Not knowing these things never harmed my English performance.

Last year I did a 7 week Thai language course in BKK and none of these things were ever mentioned.
