Same here.  Klang Muang Rd. just outside the ring road.
Thailand us getting to be more and more like a third world country.  And that includes the recent power cuts

And for the British among us,  only a  couple of hours from home.

Russell,  I don't wish to be rude, but the word is 'song taew'  with a 't' in the middle, not a 'k'.  It just means 'two rows'  which is how the seating is laid out in the back.

Rex, would you mind telling us what price you have been quoted for the hernia repair?  I did read somewhere that the soldier's hospital is a good place for hernia repair, but I don't remember where.

I suspect you are talking about two different people.  The one who can sometimes be less than helpful usually sits at number 4.

Where to find . . . / Re: Pet Bird Cage.
« on: March 13, 2018, 05:38:56 PM »
There's another pet food shop which has cages opposite Keha village near the big triangular temple, Wat Nong Waeng.  Go out of Khon Kaen on Klang Muang passing Wat Nong Waeng on your left.  The next village on your left is Keha.  U turn there and the shop is on your left immediately after the U turn.

And just to confuse things the Scots called swedes 'neeps'.

The first thing we knew about one of our neighbours dying was when a pickup full of loudspeakers parked outside their house and they proceeded to play sad music at full volume  from 9am to 6pm for three days.

Thai amplifiers only have two  levels on their switches :  'off'  and 'rock concert'.

Possibly it was because Princess Soamsawali (the current king's first wife) was in town to give out the degrees at north-east university.

I can think of three temples along that side of the lake so I'm still none the wiser.

There might be a quota, a limit of 100 people a year per nationality, but I doubt very much whether that quota is ever reached.

And before you ask,  BB is Best Before date.  Although with dry stuffing I'm sure it would last for ages if still sealed.

Where to find . . . / Re: Khon Kaen tax office
« on: January 18, 2018, 06:53:14 PM »
As am I. I have the UK state pension, a works pension and a tiny annuity.  All are taxed under PAYE in the UK and all are paid into my HSBC UK account.
With all the money laundering going on do they pick on the little people to show they are doing something?  I bet the likes of Starbucks and Amazon don't get this hassle.  (Paranoia mode setting in)
I replied today my registered  post so I'll see what they say.
